精东影业 students earn Lone Star Emmy nominations

精东影业 Lakefront Newscast students and faculty were nominated for a Lone Star Emmy Award for best 鈥淐ollege 鈥� Newscast.鈥�
The Lone Star Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Student Production Awards cited the work of Danielle Ojeda, anchor; Amanda Brown, adviser; Jeremy Falkner, reporter; Santiago Reyes, editor; Victoria Razo, reporter; and Elyssa Tijerina, reporter.
Reyes also received an Emmy nomination for 鈥淭ragedy Strikes El Paso鈥� in the category, 鈥淐ollege - News: General Assignment 鈥� Serious News.鈥�
精东影业 did not win in either category when the awards were announced on Oct. 31. However, Amanda Brown, clinical professor of Mass Communication Production, remained proud and upbeat.
鈥淲e will keep trying,鈥� she said.
This year鈥檚 nominations extend a proud tradition. Dozens of 精东影业 students have earned Lone Star Emmy nominations. Arantxa Loizaga (始12), Sarai Bejarano (始12), Angelica Casas (始15) and Gianna Rendon (始15) won Lone Star Emmys for work they produced as undergraduates.
Altogether, 精东影业 students and alumni have won 37 regional Emmys, one national Emmy and a Peabody Award.
